Knowing what Steel can do...

lies at the heart of construction in the Caribbean.
It fuels innovation and tells the story of how we picture our society, both now
and in the reliable, durable future of the materials we use, the protection we require,
the things we say about our style and where we see ourselves in our world.

From idealistic architecture to important engineering, steel plays an unprecedented role, seen or unseen, in Caribbean culture. From trusses in new Port-of-Spain office buildings, Bailey Bridges in St. Vincent or St. Lucia, or a simple house roof in St. Kitts, it is our support and protection. It allows for a fresh, bold, capable society to express itself with confidence.

We have come a long way from ‘galvanise and roof nails’, but Paradise has its eco downside, so we still look to tried, tested and infinitely reliable steel roof sheeting to keep us safe.

In response to that call, ECMIL consistently keeps pace with new product trends and technology, feeding its customers with the best possible combinations of solutions to meet their ever changing needs.

So saying, consistency, price and availability only go so far. The rest of the success story is in the hands of professionals and gifted amateurs, finding a reliable custom solution to practical protection and aesthetics.

ECMIL does not construct, but it does provide its customers with a three fold experience to achieve customer satisfaction.
Primarily, the company provides highest quality products, consistent with contemporary technology, delivered in a timely manner at an affordable price.
Secondly, they focus on excellent pre and post-purchase support, to enable customers to make best choices and informed decisions regarding ECMIL products and services.
Finally, ECMIL provides timely, relevant information and insights into the culture, technical information and use of steel products, within the region, while enhancing the order/purchasing process, through the company’s monthly newsletter and website.

Steel is at the heart of our Regional Evolution

Gone are the days of leaving the knowledge in the hands of practitioners.  That, over the years has created mixed and often unreliable results.  ECMIL believes in a well informed customer who derives value from good information, best practices and experience rather than just quality products.

Our region has embraced DIY in a developed way and has left ‘do a ting’ behind.

Asking questions stimulates debate.  It challenges a construction sector, which has, for the longest while, had its own way. But most of all, the knowledgeable customer, will, by very nature of newly acquired product and building information derive the best from their chosen materials, as well as builder; a win win for all.

It never has been enough to just offer to those who wander in to buy.

Thirty years ago, I walked into a small shop in the Windwards and was confronted with a large and rhythmic,
albeit disinterested lady with her back to me, soaking up radio soca like ‘sponge in a puddle’.
When she sensed I was there, she spun on heal and announced “Wa ya want?”

In that moment I prayed that it would not always be that way and gladly, for the advancement of our region,
it most definitely is not. The driving force for our regional advancement and long term security is now borne out
in the understanding that the customer needs to know to make best informed choices.
