Buying steel direct from ECMIL at ex-factory prices.

The islands of the Caribbean are importing economies.

That means that we are not generally fortunate to have on island manufacturers and are at the mercy, in most cases, of the retail trade.

Since COVID and even before, scarcity of goods, especially building materials, was caused by poor or unreliable shipping, bad reorder practices, and for that matter, price gouging.

Retail would only carry the obvious and choice was at a premium.

The concept of reliable supply across the region was normally associated to food stuffs, clothing, oil and gas.

40 years ago ECMIL set out to manufacture and supply the region with a range of steel products which would be durable and cost effective.
We even included PVC.

Consistent supply of best quality materials to the construction industry and individuals was a task, as we competed with various North and South American suppliers, modern alternative roofing technologies and the age old stigma of a ‘tin roof’.

However, we knew our products were well thought-out, integrated and chosen for quality, and ease of use, but our greatest benefit was that we sold at ex-factory prices.

The description ‘Ex-factory’ normally denotes a discounted price at which merchandise is sold directly from the manufacturer, without the retail markup, typically requiring the buyer to arrange delivery.

We went two steps further, creating good relationships and business for regional shippers and consolidating mixtures of products, where the customer most needed to streamline their supply, to speed construction projects.

In a region where inter island travel and trade can range between good and sketchy, we take pride to this day, in doing everything we can to facilitate prompt shipping.

Ex-factory pricing essentially means that you can do more with your budget, presently, an enormous benefit especially with global price hiking.

We believe that with a large market, comes a large responsibility. Reliability and consistency are our key watch words at ECMIL.  These are closely followed by product knowledge, customer service, choice and value for money.

We work with many construction companies and individuals to ensure successful projects, in supply of stock items as well as custom fabrication.  Often, workshop facilities, materials or welding skills are not available in some communities, so working with our customers and their designers, we become a one stop shop for materials and fabrication, shipped directly to the building site, often at a much lower cost than extra regional purchase.

We are always working towards better plant equipment and cost effective products to keep pace with technology and supply.

Call our highly experienced sales staff today.  They will work with you to get the right combination of products to satisfy your project, always at the best possible ex-factory price.
