Reliable Colorbond®

I never tire of extolling the virtues of high quality, reliable Colorbond® steel roof sheeting.
It has been ECMIL’s flagship product for over twenty-five years and has become
the single most trusted steel roofing material in the majority of the Caribbean islands.

This is so because the product consistently delivers technology, science and style, as the region’s construction sector and individual customers themselves, look to innovation and embrace a sophisticated ‘new look’, while depending on tried and tested materials to achieve their goals.

With Colorbond®’s comprehensive colour range and a strong collection of profiles, the only thing missing is a fresh idea. Dependability is never a question.

But that, as you might expect, is just scraping the surface. This material is thermally efficient, utilizing proprietary Thermatech® solar reflectance technology, designed to reflect more of the sun's heat on hot days, which can mean less dependence on air-conditioning and reduced heat stress on the roof.

If you consider the advantages of combining Colorbond® with Plyco Ply-foil Radiant Barrier Insulation*, you have all of the benefits of Thermatech® with a heat barrier deflecting 97% 0f radiated heat.  As global temperatures increase and fuel bills do not, this must be a winning combination!

This steel roof sheeting also possesses enhanced corrosion resistance enabling improved adhesion of other coatings, in five layers, designed to resist chipping, flaking and blistering.

Colorbond® steel has remarkable performance capabilities, made to withstand the harsh climatic conditions of Australia. It’s history and efficacy has been hard earned, as was it’s manufacture.  It has a long lifespan and contains recycled content, which is itself 100% recyclable.

Australia is dogged annually with the very real risk of bushfires. Research into the performance of residential boundary fencing in bushfires found that "a steel fence offers greater protection to people's homes against bushfire than other alternative materials because of its non-combustibility".  Colorbond® steel performed best under all exposure conditions including ember attacks and burning debris ignited by windborne embers.

While this may not be important to lush year round tropical environments, the risks are high in Islands such as Antigua and St. Lucia, which can seasonally, be prone to such scorching conditions.

Maintenance with regular fresh water washing will prolong the product life and its good looks!

So with beauty, strength and environmental performance, Colorbond® is the ideal investment for any construction project in the Caribbean.

For all architects and builders who have not yet considered Colorbond®’s full potential, ECMIL has the capability
and considerable experience to customise roof sheeting and flashing to suit the majority of novel Ideas.

The company carries 13 Colorbond® colours in 24 or 25 gauge steel (0.55mm or 0.50mm) or Zincalume® its ‘steel’ partner product in 24, 25 or 26 gauge steel (0.55mm, 0.50mm, or 0.41mm & 0.45mm thickness), in three diverse profiles.
